West Coast Thunder Drill Team

Drill Teams have been thrilling rodeo crowds for years and West Coast Thunder is considered one of the more professional teams on the circuit. Most of the members have been riding together for many years and our bond has brought unity and precision to our performances.

We pride ourselves in our versatility as we have performed at not only rodeos, but weddings, horse shows, parades and private functions. We are always looking for new and exciting venues, big or small, to add to our portfolio.

We practice year round, and hold try outs for new members each fall. Horse and rider suitability is carefully considered before a rider is accepted.

Sponsors are appreciated anytime. Please email for more information.

Current events...

We started off our rodeo season at Princeton with a mild case of nerves as usual.  Kudos to all the new riders that made that first wild leap into the arena without loosing their breakfast.  When they came out at the end they managed to breath and smile!  New riders, new horses, new drill and it all when off without a hitch... we are trained professionals after all.  Check out the video on our Events page.

Princeton Rodeo always treats us right.  We have friends there, the facilities are great, and our reserved camping spot is first rate.  And did you hear, we got an honourable mention when the rodeo was on Global News prior to.  Thank you Princeton... again!

Next was the Pro Rodeo at Falkland where we showcased our bright (and I mean bright) new green shirts.  Thank you Lynn!  They look amazing!  Check them out on youtube.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_nVV7Sfs9A  (yes, Pam owes the team beer at the next rodeo)

A fun time was had by all... Falkland has two dances at which the team members can show off their table dancing skills.  (We won't mention any names in case the husbands are listening).

Unfortunately, because of some sick ponies, we had to cancel Clinton and Ashcroft Rodeos.  We will be back there in full force next year.

Ashcroft Rodeo asked the team to come up and sell 50/50 without riding and a few of the members decided to make the trip.  And I have to say they rocked!!  A big thanks to Stefanie, Emily, Dawn and Pam for going the extra mile and bringing home the bacon!!

Next rodeo is Interlakes August long weekend.  It is their 20th annual so I'm thinking it will be a special event!!  Hope to see you all there!!
